Denis Parrot
Denis Parrot is an editor and a graphic designer. He has worked on many fiction films and documentaries, such as "On The Trail Of Igor Rizzi", directed by Noel Mitrani, which was awarded in Venice and in Toronto in 2006. In 2015 he edited the feature length film "Move!", a “poetrip” around the world through dance. In 2015 he directed a tribute to the work of Hayao Miyazaki, totalizing more than 3 million views on the internet. He has also worked as an animator on "Revolting Rhymes", a short film on Roald Dahl for the BBC, nominated for the Academy Awards 2018.

In a long line of films dealing with the coming out of LGBTQ+ members, "Out" is one of the most efficient when it comes to depicting the various reactions of people at both ends of such contexts. Comprising entirely of short videos posted on the internet by young people who have made the decision to come out to their loved ones (mostly their parents and siblings) as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender, Denis Parrot's documentary acts in turn as a comedy, drama, thriller or farce, depending on whose close-up we see at any given time. Remarkably simple in terms of style, undoubtedly owing to the fact that all those who decide to record such an important moment in their lives are less worried about the mise-en-scène and more interested in its performative aspect, "Out" documents a reality relevant to the present — the casualness with which younger generations explore and especially accept and assert their own sexuality.
